Zuidberg Machining invests in Kardex system for the storage of fixtures

An automated storage cabinet from Kardex Remstar has recently been put into use.

In this case, fixtures, which are used in different machining centers, are temporarily stored for subsequent use. The storage cupboard is equipped with a carousel system that allows storage to a great height.
With a computer system, the desired fixtures are stored and simply located to be offered for use again.

Due to the production of many new products and the commissioning of two new machines, the number of fixtures has increased to such an extent that the existing storage capacity is no longer satisfying. With this storage cabinet, many fixtures can be stored and managed on a limited floor surface. The cabinet currently has 24 drawers but can be further expanded, making Zuidberg prepared for further expansions.

By using this storage, the necessary fixtures are available more quickly, which means that the set-up times of machining centers are greatly reduced. In this way Zuidberg uses storage space and machine capacity very effectively.
