New 2D laser cutting machine Trumpf TruLaser 5030 fiber increases cutting capacity

To increase production capacity, Zuidberg introduced a new laser cutting machine to the Zuidberg Staalservice’s machinery. This machine is attached to the automatic Stopa storage system en fits perfectly with our current work processes.

Developing with flexibility

The adaptation of this cutting machine is a practical application for a reformed production strategy. Zuidberg uses the Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) strategy, with which only 80% of total production capacity is scheduled. The other 20% can be used for e.a. rush orders, or this time can be used to increase quality and process improvements.

Zuidberg expects to be more flexible in production fluctuations by using this new strategy.

Trumpf TruLaser 5030 fiber

The Trulaser 5030, which has a laser power of 8000 Watt, can cut steel sheets up to 25 mm thick. The ‘Smart Beam Control’-technology continually checks the focal position of the laser and adjusts it when needed. This ensures that the power and position remains stable all the time. Quality and process safety are guaranteed.

The laser cutter also allows smooth, high-quality at all sheet thicknesses due to the ‘BrightLine Fiber’ technology. This also lets the laser cut at high speeds when working with thinner sheets of metal. Again, the quality and it’s characteristics of the metal are just as high.
