Serial production of the prototype of the High Efficiency PTO presented in a previous newsletter will start soon. The test programme is almost at an end and very shortly the first vehicles will be equipped with this new transmission.
Difference
The transmission differs from the current PTO systems in the position of the clutch on the ingoing shaft. As a result of this, the inside of the transmission only rotates if the clutch is actually engaged. This keeps the losses to a minimum. Moreover, it allows a much more compact design for the entire transmission.
Load sensor
This High Efficiency PTO is equipped with a load sensor that gives a signal to manage power to the PTO and subsequently implement, to for example prevent overload and damage. This signal (either digital or analogue) can be as an input signal for the tractor ECU to trigger a warning or limit engine power etc..
Optimised system
The internal oil management has been optimised as a result of which the resistance is lower and higher efficiency is possible without jeopardising the lubrication of the internal components. The transmission can transfer power levels up to 150 kW at an output speed of 1000 rpm while the dimensions are more compact.
