New E-PTO from Zuidberg offers a sustainable alternative for power transmission
Zuidberg Group of Companies proudly presented its latest offering, the E-PTO, at Agritechnica 2023.
Why is this new PTO necessary? It answers the growing demand for sustainable concepts for power transmission. These new concepts are increasingly being applied in vehicles where the diesel engine is replaced by an electric motor and the fuel tank by a battery. To ensure optimal functionality of these new concepts, Zuidberg offers an electrically driven PTO system. This maintains the standardised PTO interface and enables the new generation of machines to be powered sustainably. The Zuidberg E-PTO offers a solution that unites machines and the journey towards increased operational sustainability.
How does the E-PTO work? The E-PTO is connected to the electrical system of the vehicle. It allows the rotational direction and rpm of the PTO to be varied using an electric motor mounted centrally against the gear transmission. Continuously monitoring and adjusting the power, torque and rpm results in a better performance from the implement and boosts efficiency even further. Optimising the gear transmission lowers noise levels and achieves higher efficiency.
The Zuidberg E-PTO offers the possibility of driving implements at variable speeds, independent of travel speed, with the power depending on the electric motor selected. This solution eliminates the need to purchase implements with their own electric drive, while conventional implements can still be used but with the benefits of electric drive. Zuidberg can also engineer transmissions capable of driving additional functions such as hydraulics, air and other systems. Traction drive is also possible.
